Extreme Performance Tuning of Internet Explorer 8
Warning : This may not be suitable for all. Follow these steps if you want your IE8 to be lightning fast.
Before starting this tuning, you can try “Reset Internet Explorer’s Settings to their default condition”. Then restart the browser and finish off the “Set up Windows Internet Explorer 8″ wizard.
- Make your home page about:blank
- Make your new Tab page about:blank
- Uninstall all useless Toolbars and Addons
- Disable script debugging
- Disable script error notification
- Disable useless addons if you cannot uninstall them
- Disable useless Downloaded Controls.
- Disable Suggested Sites
- Enable Popup blocker
- Hide Favourite’s Bar
- Remove useless Accelerators
- Remove useless Search Providers
- Turn off SmartScreen Filter
- Uncheck “Warn me when closing multiple tabs”
- Select “Always open pop-ups in a new tab”
- Open links from other programs in “A new tab in the current window”
- If you do not use Accelerators, uncheck “Display Accelerator button on selection”
